The terms “pylon sign” and “pole sign” are often used interchangeably when people contact us to get a quote, but there are some subtle differences between them:
Pylon Sign:
- Typically larger and taller than pole signs.
- Consists of one or more vertical supports (pylons) that hold up a sign structure.
- Often used for larger commercial developments, such as shopping centres, business parks, or corporate headquarters.
- May feature multiple signs or advertising panels mounted at different heights on the structure.
- Can incorporate additional features such as lighting, digital displays, or architectural elements.
Pole Sign:
- Generally smaller and simpler in design compared to pylon signs.
- Consists of a single pole or post supporting a sign.
- Commonly found along roadsides, at small businesses, gas stations, or restaurants.
- Usually displays a single sign or advertising panel attached to the top of the pole.
- Typically less elaborate and more utilitarian in appearance compared to pylon signs.
- They are used indoors as well as outdoors
